Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation Review

Maybelline Matte Mousse Foundation

MAYBELLINE FOUNDATIONS are raved all over the world but unfortunately in India we get very few variants of these and since I love everything from this brand specially the Maybelline Colossal Kajal which is my all time favorite kajal, I simply try to get my hands hold on the products available here. I tried Maybelline Clear Glow Compact long ago and simply loved it but sadly I lost it somewhere and now I'm not getting it in my shade in India so I have ordered it again from Beautyjoint. But for now I'm super excited to share with you this another foundation from this brand and this is Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse Foundation for my oily acne prone skin and this is my first foundation in mousse form otherwise I normally buy the liquid ones. Read on the review below to find out more about this.

MAYBELLINE DREAM MATTE MOUSSE FOUNDATION REVIEW

Packaging - The packaging of this is very different from the regular ones since this comes in a tiny cute round glass jar with the makeup mousse inside. Though this packaging is not hygienic at all since you are required to dig your fingers inside the jar every time you use it or even if you require more for application, so I'm not do happy with the packaging but I'm not so upset since this is a very travel friendly packaging being small in size and free from the fear of spillage because of mousse powdery texture.

Shades Available
This foundation is available in lot of shades for different skin tones but as usual it's very difficult to get the foundation in India and more difficult to get in your true shade. Fortunately I have been lucky to grab the one in light Ivory shade online from Amazon which was the last piece in the stock. One can order the desired shade from various online shopping sites in India or from eBay and various other international sites.

Texture & Application
This Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation is quite matte as the name says but feel spongy to touch. I just take some on my finger and  dab it all over and then blend it with my Sigma brush. It gets easily blended giving a sort of airbrush finish. I know many people complain of this being very powdery which in turn gives a very dry cakey look on skin but I didn't feel this way. Rather of felt that this mousse foundation was the easiest to blend of all. Though it did leave skin little dry but when I used it along with the setting spray, I could see a nice clear glowing skin.

In terms of coverage, it gives light to medium coverage which can be made buildable but it's definitely not a foundation with heavy coverage. I had few light acne scars which were still visible after the application of this foundation. So I think it's a nice mousse foundation to even down your skin tone with light to medium coverage for normal, oily as well as acne prone skin but yes this one is definitely not for dry skin since it would make dry skin look even more dry and highlight your fines lines and wrinkles. I do have open pores on my right cheek which got more into focus after applying this but somehow I was able to balance then with the makeup fixing spray.

This Maybelline Mousse Foundation is overall a good foundation in mousse form rather great for oily acne prone skin since this keeps oil and shine at bay. It gave me matte effect immediately on application and this effect was there till evening without any oiliness or shine which I actually liked but if you have dry skin then this is definitely not for you since this can make your skin look more flaky and rough. Also if you are looking for a high coverage foundation, then you should go for something like Revlon Colorstay since this will give you just light to medium coverage. One more thing, which I personally felt on my sensitive skin is that it itched little bit on my cheek area may be because I have sensitive skin. I didn't face this problem everything but once or twice.

Maybelline Matte Mousse Foundation Review

Overall this Maybelline Mousse is a good foundation specially for oily acne prone skin since it definitely keeps oil grease shine away, keeping skin matte for long. If you have oily or even normal skin, you should surely try it, only difficulty being it's not so easily available in India that too in your desired shade.

  1. This slightly irritated my sensitive skin and didn't blend so well on my oily skin either.

  2. There was no irritation on my skin and blended well on my oily skin but it does look powdery on dry patches. It transfers easily even after 3 hours.
